smd screens

LED screens are solutions that have the advantage of being useful in various situations and of being modular. They are therefore found both indoors and outdoors. However, depending on this environment, the constraints applied to the screen will be different.

Outdoors, we think of environmental ones related to the weather such as the sun, the rain, or the wind. While, indoors, the environment is certainly more stable, but the constraints are not zero. Indeed, the screen remains subject to dust and humidity and must adapt to space and structural constraints.

This is why, in general, we do not install the same giant LED screen solutions indoors as outdoors. We tell you more.

FEATURES OF THE INDOOR ENVIRONMENT

In general, the main constraint indoors is a size constraint. Indeed, the screen must be able to adapt to the available space.  In addition, they must adapt to the possibilities of facilities available.

The majority of indoor screens are installed against a wall or suspended. It will therefore be necessary to take into account the characteristics of the laying support, particularly in terms of fragility.

In addition, indoors, the distances are shorter than outdoors. Indeed, the spectator is more frequently led to see a screen up close. This will have consequences in particular at the level of the density of the SMD Screens to offer a higher resolution.

Finally, indoors, the environmental constraints are less important. The screens will therefore be subject to less wear and will generally require fewer maintenance operations.

FEATURES OF THE EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT

Outdoors, the brightness is more important, especially during the day. Indeed, daylight is generally more intense than that of our artificial lighting. The giant outdoor screens will therefore have to offer a light intensity adapted to these conditions to ensure the visibility of the messages. This is all the more valid as this luminosity varies according to the time of day and the weather.

In addition, the main constraints subject to the LED screen will come from weather variations, summer, and winter. Indeed, the screen must be able to be resistant to rain as well as cold. They will also need to be UV resistant and offer additional measures in heat dissipation.

Finally, these constraints must also apply to the installation structures. Which are also added wind and safety constraints, to be taken into consideration. Whether on a mast, on a wall, or a building, an exterior screen must incorporate structures adapted to the instability of this environment.

GIANT SCREENS DESIGNED TO BRING EVENTS TO LIFE IN A DIFFERENT WAY

Event screens are one of the special categories in the vast market of LED screens. They have, over time, been designed to meet the constraints of one-off installations or recording. They also integrate the resistance of outdoor screens if necessary without resigning to image quality.

These are complete products designed to bring events to life in a different way. They retransmit them as close as possible to the action to allow the public to take full advantage of it.

At WIN LIGHT  as designers of giant LED screens, we offer solutions to animate your events. With our 25 years of experience in the LED screen sector, we offer quality solutions adapted to occasional installations. You can find out more on our page dedicated to event screens. Finally, if you have any questions or projects, do not hesitate to contact us. Our team will be happy to answer you.

THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN INDOOR AND OUTDOOR SCREEN

The different levels of constraint between the environment and the exterior and interior, therefore, have consequences on the design of a giant screen.

Understanding these differences above all makes it possible to better understand the technical information given by the various suppliers of digital signage solutions. Already, visually, an outdoor screen will be thicker, more robust, and equipped with a waterproof box to provide the necessary resistance. Conversely, an indoor screen will generally be thinner and lighter to fit better into smaller spaces.

There are also differences in terms of technical characteristics.  An outdoor screen will offer higher brightness on average 10 times greater than an indoor LED screen, as well as a higher IP rating.

On the other hand, we generally observe a finer resolution in indoor LED screens to adapt to the lack of hindsight. This can result in a higher price for an indoor screen. Indeed, the main component of an LED screen is the number of LEDs per square meter.

The outdoor and indoor giant screens have notable differences, like our WinCity and WinSlim II ranges. However, the advantage of LED screens is that they are modular and customizable as needed.

This is why it is possible to produce outdoor screens with a very fine resolution or more resistant indoor screens to adapt to particular environments such as a swimming pool for example.

As a LED screen manufacturer, we can offer you a tailor-made solution adapted to your needs. Do not hesitate to contact us, our advisers will be delighted to answer you.
