Step 1 

In the first step of drawing a flying bird, we will outline some rough bird drawings using a pencil. Lines and shapes will be pretty basic for now, as we’ll add more details in the later stages of this tutorial. You will now draw the drawing’s head, body, wings, and tail. Then, once you have all these pencil outlines, you can use the pen to draw the bird’s face and beak. You can also draw some elements on the beak when you do this, such as the eyes and mouth. When you’re happy with how it looks, you’re ready for step 2!

Step 2: Start drawing more pen details.

The second part of your drawing of a bird in flight will see you add some details in pencil to your bird. This part will focus on some of the lines on the wings and some parts of the body. Now you can see the last line of the jumper. You can also look up the bird’s tail and add better details. Using the pencil lines you drew in step 1, carefully draw some sharp wing lines along the inner wing line. This will give the image some texture. After drawing, you’re ready for the final details in the next step.

Step 3: Start adding the feather details to the feathers.

In this third part of our tutorial on how to draw a flying bird, we will finish the bird diagram. For the most part, you will focus on the wing wings. To do this, you can use wings and some sharp lines. This will make her look like beautiful wings and feathers!

Step 4: Draw more details inside the wing.

Your drawing of the bird in flight is wholly completed so we will give some details about the inside of the wings in the next few steps. Using the pencil lines you drew in step 1, carefully draw some sharp wing lines along the inner wing line. This will give the image some texture. After drawing, you’re ready for the final details in the next step. You can keep the colors muted and dark if you like, or make the page bright and vibrant with bounce colors! If you create backgrounds or any additional items, you can also color them in for more color variations. Then, once you know what colors you want to use, you can choose which artistic media and tools you want to use. You can combine tools like paints, watercolors, and crayons, to name a few, and each one will bring a wonderful element to the palette.

Step 5: Finish the details of the flying bird drawing.

This step of our Flying Bird tutorial will be about adding some final details to complete it. These details will mainly appear on the wings. You can add feather details there. You can then add any final pen lines that you missed from the previous steps. Once you have drawn all the pencil details for your picture, you can erase all the pencil lines from step one as you won’t need them anymore. Be careful when wiping. The ink may take some time to dry completely! Once you have added all these details, you can add any other items or pieces. Some ideas you can add is to fly some other bird. You can even draw a beautiful background to complete it uniquely! By drawing the background, you can find out what kind of weather or conditions of this bird’s region. Step 6: Complete the drawing of the flying birds with some colours.

Now that you’ve finished painting the flying birds, it’s time to kick back with some fun colours to finish them off! We use blue, grey, and yellow to colour the bird in our example. When you paint your canvas, you can use any colour you want! Birds can come in bright and beautiful colours, so you have plenty of options to complete them.
